BROKEN WALTZ "… And Disasters Farrington" LP BEAST

Info

BROKEN WALTZ's grim, oppressive boogie evokes a cold fever, as cold as the corpse of JOY DIVISION. The duo now treads the byways trodden by NICK CAVE'S GRINDERMAN, TOM WAITS'S honky-tonk, THE CRAMPS' rockaboogie, and SUICIDE's synth-blues.
One on drums and vocals, the other on bass, they use these elements, tastefully blended with solid references and skillful sonic manipulation, to offer us two albums in quick succession, filled with the Anglo-Saxon storms that send their head-shattering winds even here. Saxophone, organ, and a female voice sometimes join this deliberately anti-guitar duo, a way of imposing a formidable stamp on these thunderous creations born from a workshop of brilliant artisans. The raw, slurred words and voice resonate under the light of an ominous moon in this mysterious land of joys… and disasters.

A diptych, not a double, a journey in two parts through a boundless sonic universe, a journey filled with unexpected sonic and visual encounters—this is the promise of this mysterious land of joys and disasters.
