SHADOW 15

SHADOW 15 was formed in Nashville in 1983 when Shannon Ligon (guitar) and Barry Nelson (bass) meet the Feinstein brothers, Scott (vocals/guitar) and Chris (drum/vocals) and started writing songs and rehearsing. They played their first show that autumn and recorded 8 songs in early ’84, which they self released on cassette. They received regional airplay on college radio and started touring the southeast US. A show in Jackson MS led to them meeting Tim Lee (Windbreakers) who offered to release their first vinyl EP, “Far Away” on his Big Monkey Records label in 1985. The EP received national airplay on college radio and more touring followed which garnered a wide following and much interest in the band. In ’86, their song “the Last Forever” appeared on WRVU’s “City Without a Subway” , a compilation of Nashville bands. Chris left the band shortly thereafter and was replaced by Richard Pryor. The band carried on until spring of ’87, ending with a final show at the Exit-In in May.
